For most small shops, the best loyalty app is a wallet card: the customer scans a QR code and the card lands in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, with nothing to download. Below are 16 tools with the price each vendor shows on its own pricing page, which ones have a free plan, which ask for a card to start, and who each one is wrong for.

Disclosure: [Passtastic](/en) is our product and it's on this list. Several tools below start cheaper, and some have a free plan, which we don't. We say where it loses. Every price was checked on the vendor's own pricing page on 21 October 2026, in the currency the vendor quotes.

What should you check before you compare prices?

Check four things first: whether your customer needs an app, whether you need a card to start, how many members the cheapest plan allows, and whether it talks to your till. These four decide whether the program works at your counter.

  1. 1Does the customer have to download an app? Wallet cards go into Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, which is already on the phone. App-based tools ask for a download first, and some people walk away at that step.
  2. 2Do you need a payment card to start? Some trials start without one. Others ask for it up front, or only when you take your card live.
  3. 3Is there a member cap? Free plans often limit customers, card designs or messages. A small member cap can fill up in your first month.
  4. 4Does it need a POS? Some loyalty programs only exist inside a till system. If you change tills later, you can lose the program.

Only need a stamp card? We signed up for nine stamp-card apps and walked through each one in our hands-on punch card app comparison. This guide covers the wider choice: points, tiers, your till, several shops and automatic messages.

If you want to try a wallet card before reading on, you can build your loyalty card and see it on your own phone.

What does "free" really mean on these pricing pages?

"Free" means three different things on these pages: a free trial that ends, a free plan with limits, or loyalty that comes free inside another product you pay for. Read the label before you build anything.

  • Free trial. You get the full product for a fixed time, then pay. Passtastic (14 days), Loopy Loyalty (15 days), Stamp Me (30 days from your first published card) and Stampeo (30 days) work like this.
  • Free plan with limits. You can stay free, but something is capped. Loop's free plan allows up to 20 members and no broadcast emails. FaveCard's free plan gives you one active stamp card in a web wallet; Apple and Google Wallet passes are on its paid Pro plan.
  • Free inside something else. Loyverse's loyalty program is free because it's part of its free POS. Smile.io, Yotpo and LoyaltyLion have free plans for online stores below an order limit.

The catch with free usually shows up in one of three places: a member or order cap, a feature you need that sits on the paid plan (wallet passes, messages), or a program that only works while you use the vendor's till.

How do the free plans pay for themselves?

A free plan is paid for by the plan above it, so check what the free one leaves out. Here's what each vendor's own pricing page, FAQ and privacy policy say:

  • BonusQR. The free app carries BonusQR branding, and its pricing table says your customers "see other nearby businesses" in it. Push and email messages start on Basic at $20 a month. Only the White Label plan ($690 one-time plus $71 a month) shows just your business.
  • FaveCard. Premium tools last until your first 30 customers. After that, new customers can't add the card to Apple or Google Wallet, so it stays in their browser. Wallet passes and your logo are on Pro (€29 or $39 a month), and messages are on Business (€49 or $59 a month).
  • Loop. Free stops at 20 members. Grow ($29) covers 100 members and Community ($79) covers 250, so a café with 200 members pays $79 a month.
  • Loyverse. The POS earns from paid add-ons. Its loyalty is a barcode card with no built-in messages: you export the customer list to contact people.

On data: FaveCard and Loop say in their privacy policies that they don't sell personal data. BonusQR's policy says it won't share your information except as the policy describes. None of the policies we read says it sells your customers' data.

Here is every tool on one table, grouped by type. Prices are in the vendor's own currency, so you can check each figure yourself. Plans, trials and wallet support come from each vendor's own site.

Which tools connect to your till, handle several shops and send messages on their own?

A price list doesn't show the three things that decide how much work a loyalty app is after launch: whether points come from your till, whether it can run more than one shop, and whether messages go out without you. For these we read each vendor's help center and setup guides, not only its marketing pages.

ToolConnects to your tillMore than one shopMessages that send themselves
PasstasticSquare, Lightspeed, Holded, Odoo, Loggro, Siigo, from $39Sign-ups, returning customers and visits per location, side by side (Multi-Location)Birthday on every plan; win-back, level-up and messages for one level on Multi-Location

LoyalzooSeveral POS systems, from $77 a monthA separate account per shop; one card per shopWelcome, birthday, "slipping away"
Square LoyaltyIt's the tillLoyalty reports filter by locationBirthday and lapsed-customer campaigns via Square Marketing

Two patterns stand out. "Locations" sometimes means something else: on Loopy and Perkstar it's also the address that makes the card pop up on the lock screen near your shop, not a report. And none of the other tools' help centers we read shows a side-by-side comparison of locations.

Wallet-card tools: no download for your customer

These tools put the card straight into Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. They suit cafés, salons, bakeries and shops where customers won't install anything at the till.

Passtastic — $39 / €39 / £32 a month

Passtastic is our product. The Single Location plan is $39, €39 or £32 a month, and it already connects to your till: Square, Lightspeed, Holded, Odoo, Loggro and Siigo, so stamps and points post straight from the sale. On this list, Perkstar puts its POS integrations on its £65 plan, and Loyalzoo ($77 a month), Marsello ($60 a site) and Kangaroo ($79 a month) start higher. Our Square integration works on plain Square, with no paid Square Loyalty add-on.

Multi-Location is $99, €99 or £79 a month for up to 3 locations, and it's built for running several shops from one account. You see sign-ups, returning customers and visits for each location, compare your shops side by side, and see which shop is behind each visit in a customer's history. None of the other tools' help centers we read shows a side-by-side comparison of locations. Multi-Location also adds targeted automatic messages, for example a win-back message to members who haven't visited in 30 days, or a reward only for your Silver members.

You can run stamp cards, points, tiers, coupons and memberships, all in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet. Staff scan with the free app on the phone they already carry. You get a 14-day free trial with no credit card, and there's no free-forever plan.

Best for a shop that wants its till connected on the entry plan, or a business with 2 or 3 locations that wants to compare them and message each group of customers.

Skip it if you want a free-forever plan or the lowest monthly price. Perkstar, BonusQR and Loopy Loyalty all start lower.

Perkstar — £15 a month

Perkstar's Starter plan is £15 a month for one business location, and each extra location is £10 a month. The trial is 7 days free with no credit card. You get branded Apple and Google Wallet cards, stamp and points card types on Starter, and unlimited members on every paid plan.

We walked through Perkstar step by step in our hands-on punch card app comparison.

Best for a single UK shop that wants a wallet card on a small budget.

Skip it if you need a till connection on day one. POS integrations are on the Scale plan at £65 a month.

BonusQR — free plan, or $20 a month

BonusQR has a "$0 forever" free plan with no card. Customers and scans are unlimited on every plan. The free plan already includes web, iOS and Android apps plus Google Wallet and Apple Wallet. It also offers seven program types, from stamp cards to cashback. Basic is $20 a month, billed $60 every 3 months, and the page says no POS integration is required.

Best for a shop that wants to start free with wallet cards and no member cap.

Skip it if you don't want your customers seeing other businesses in the app, or you want messages for free. On the free plan the app shows nearby businesses, and push and email start at $20 a month. A custom app with POS or CRM integration starts at $1,690 one-time plus $71 a month.

Loopy Loyalty — $25 a month

Loopy Loyalty's Starter plan is $25 a month or $250 a year for one location. Growth covers 3 locations and Ultimate covers 10. The free trial is 15 days. You can set up the account and design your card without payment details, but a credit card is required when you move the card live. Cards work in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, and staff stamp with the Stamper App. Loopy also lists a Zapier/Make integration and a Developer API; check which plan includes them.

More on setting it up in our hands-on punch card app comparison.

Best for a wallet card with room to grow to 3 or 10 locations on fixed plans.

Skip it if you want to launch to real customers without entering a card. You'll need one to go live.

Loyalzoo — $77 a month

Loyalzoo's Grow plan is $77 a month and Smart is $167 a month. Multi has custom pricing. The trial is 7 days, and the page lists Apple and Google Wallet passes for your customers. Loyalzoo says it integrates with major ePOS systems.

Our hands-on notes are in our hands-on punch card app comparison.

Best for a shop that wants its wallet card tied to its till.

Skip it if a 7-day trial is too short to test it on a real busy weekend.

Tools with a free plan

These let you stay free, with a limit. Know the limit before you print a QR code.

FaveCard — free plan with one stamp card

FaveCard's free plan gives you one active stamp card and unlimited customers, with no time limit and no credit card. On the free plan, the card is a web wallet card. Apple and Google Wallet passes are on Pro (€29 or $39 a month, shown in your local currency), and messages are on Business. Every new account gets premium tools until its first 30 customers are on the card; after that, new customers' cards stay in the browser.

Best for testing a stamp card for free with no customer cap.

Skip it if you want the card in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet without paying. That's a Pro feature.

Loop — free up to 20 members

Loop's free plan covers up to 20 members, with no broadcast emails and no credit card required. The paid Grow plan is US$29 a month for up to 100 members, with a 7-day free trial, and Community is US$79 a month for up to 250. Loop's documentation says customers can use the card in a browser or save it to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.

Best for a very small test with a handful of regulars.

Skip it if you expect real sign-ups. Across 267 Passtastic businesses with at least 10 members that started between October 2025 and September 2026, the median signed up 29 customers in its first 30 days. That's past Loop's free cap within a month.

Loyverse — loyalty inside a free POS

Loyverse is a free POS with optional paid add-ons, and its loyalty program is free. Paid add-ons include unlimited sales history at €5 a month per store and advanced inventory at €25 a month per store. Each paid add-on starts with a 14-day free trial, with no credit card required.

Best for a new shop that also needs a till and wants loyalty in the same place.

Skip it if you already have a POS you like. You'd be switching tills to get the free loyalty.

Stamp cards with a trial

Stampeo — €20 a month

Stampeo's Starter plan is €20 a month, or €16 a month billed €192 a year. Starter is for single-location businesses and Pro is for multi-location ones. You can run stamp or points cards, fully customisable. The 30-day trial asks for a bank card, and nothing is charged before day 30. Stampeo says the card lives in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, with no app for your customers to download. There's also a middle Growth plan between Starter and Pro.

Best for a euro-priced wallet stamp or points card with a long trial.

Skip it if you don't want to enter a bank card just to try it.

Stamp Me — $49 / £39 / €29 a month

Stamp Me's Lite plan is $49, £39 or €29 a month, labelled a "Limited Time Offer". It's one of three 30-day trials on this list, and the only one that starts when you publish your first stamp card. No credit card is required. Lite includes up to 2 published programs; extra ones are $15, £15 or €15 one-time each. It also sells StampPod, a tap-and-go device for the counter.

Customers join by searching your business in the app or scanning a QR code. Their card lives in the Stamp Me app. They can save their Member Code to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet if you use the Stamp Business app.

We signed up and went through the app in our hands-on punch card app comparison.

Best for a counter where you want tap-and-go hardware.

Skip it if your customers won't install an app at the till.

Loyalty that comes with your till

Square Loyalty — part of Square Plus

Square Loyalty offers a 30-day free trial. Customers sign up at your point of sale, through your Square website or via an invoice, and can add a loyalty pass to Apple Wallet. The price depends on your country. On Square's US pages, loyalty has no price of its own: it's listed under the Plus and Premium plans, not Free. In the UK, Square sells it separately at £25, £45 or £65 a month per location, depending on how many loyalty visits you have; Canada, Australia and Ireland also show their own prices. Our Square Loyalty review goes through the plan and the alternatives.

Best for a shop already running Square that wants loyalty in the same system.

Skip it if you don't use Square for payments. The program lives inside Square.

Some other POS companies also bundle loyalty with their till and only quote prices through sales. We left those out: this list only includes tools that publish a price, a free plan or a free trial on their own page.

Bigger platforms with more marketing tools

Marsello — from $60 a site

Marsello's Loyalty Launch plan starts at $60 USD per site per month ($100 NZD). You can try it free for 14 days.

Best for a shop that's happy to pay per site and wants two weeks to test it.

Skip it if you only need a stamp card. Several wallet-card tools above start lower.

Kangaroo Rewards — $79 a month

Kangaroo Rewards' Core plan is $79 USD a month. No free trial is listed, but it offers a free 30-minute demo, and 6 months free if you switch from another loyalty platform. Customers use the free Kangaroo Rewards app.

Best for a business that has looked at the cheaper tools and needs more than they offer.

Skip it if you want to try it with real customers before you pay, or your customers won't install an app.

If you sell online: Smile.io, Yotpo and LoyaltyLion

These three are built for online stores and price by monthly orders, not by shop. They're a fit if most of your sales happen on a website.

  • Smile.io calls itself "the loyalty platform for Shopify Plus and enterprise brands". Its free plan covers up to 200 monthly orders, and Essential is $15 a month on monthly billing, with a 14-day free trial through Shopify.
  • Yotpo Loyalty has a free plan at $0 a month. Pro starts at $199 a month and includes the first 500 monthly orders. Members can save their points to Apple Wallet or Google Pay.
  • LoyaltyLion's Classic plan is $199 a month and includes 500 orders a month. It recommends its free plan for stores with 400 orders a month or fewer, and its 14-day free trial runs through the Shopify App Store. Its Loyalty Pass for Apple and Google Wallet is a paid add-on from Classic up.

Skip all three if your customers buy at a counter. A wallet card fits a physical shop better.

How much does a loyalty app pay back?

A paid plan covers itself with a handful of extra visits a week. Here's the maths for an invented café.

Maple & Crumb sells a coffee for €3.50 and runs a "buy 8, get the 9th free" card. Across 261 Passtastic businesses with at least 10 members, as of October 2026, the median stamp card asks for 8 stamps, so that's a typical setup. For our example, say each coffee leaves €2.50 after costs.

  • A €39-a-month plan costs €468 a year (€39 × 12).
  • To cover €39 a month, the café needs about 16 extra coffees a month (€39 ÷ €2.50 = 15.6).
  • If 5 regulars come in one extra time a week, that's about 20 extra coffees a month. At €2.50 each, that's €50 a month, more than the fee.

The reward costs something too: one free coffee per 8 bought. Count it before you choose the reward.

If a stamp card is all you need, we signed up for the stamp-card tools and compared them in the best digital punch card apps.

How do you launch a loyalty app in your first week?

Launch with one simple reward, one QR code where people pay, and one line for your staff. Most of the work is at the counter, not in the software.

  1. 1Pick the tool and set a goal. Choose from the table above and decide what success looks like, say 30 members in the first month.
  2. 2Make the first reward reachable. Customers should reach it within a few visits.
  3. 3Put the QR code where people pay. The till, the receipt and a sign by the door all work.
  4. 4Train your staff in one sentence. "Ask if they're collecting, then scan the phone after they pay."
  5. 5Tell your regulars. Mention it at the counter, post it on Instagram and send the link to anyone already on your list.

One thing software can't fix: if nobody asks "are you collecting?", nobody joins. The tool only helps once your team asks.

I usually check four or five companies. I think your product was the most straightforward.

How we compared

We opened each vendor's own pricing page on 21 October 2026, then its feature pages and help center for anything the pricing page left out. For till connections, locations and automatic messages, we read their help centers and setup guides. We only wrote down what the vendor's own site says.

One tool you'll see on other lists isn't in ours. We couldn't open any Flex Rewards page, so we couldn't check it. CandyBar also turns up in older roundups. When we checked candybar.co, it showed articles but no sign-up or pricing page, so don't plan around it. We didn't convert currencies. Prices change, so check the vendor's page before you sign up. Passtastic is our product, so weigh what we say about it with that in mind. For our own plans, see pricing.

Try a wallet loyalty card on real customers. 14-day free trial, no credit card.

Build your card

Alina Petrenko, Co-founder. Hi, I'm Alina, co-founder of Passtastic. My goal is simple: a loyalty program should take care of itself. So I work on the things that make that possible, like quick setup, automatic messages that bring customers back, and connections to the systems businesses already use, so points add up with every sale. I learn the most from talking to café, bar and bakery owners, and that's what I write about here.
