Point Card
Point cards are perfect when customers spend different amounts or when you want to offer multiple reward levels.
Two ways to award points
Option 1: Points per visit (simpler to manage)
- Give the same points regardless of purchase amount
- Example: 10 points every time they visit
- Good for: Service businesses, restaurants with similar meal prices
Option 2: Points per dollar spent (more flexible)
- Award points based on how much they spend
- Example: 1 point for every $1 spent
- Good for: Retail stores, restaurants with varying prices
Setting up rewards
Unlike stamp cards with one reward, you can offer multiple reward levels:
- 100 points = $5 off
- 250 points = $15 off
- 500 points = $30 off
Real business examples:
Coffee shop (per visit):
- Earn 15 points per visit
- 100 points = free drink, 200 points = free meal
Clothing store (per dollar):
- Earn 1 point per $1 spent
- 200 points = $10 off, 500 points = $30 off
Restaurant (per visit):
- Earn 25 points per meal
- 150 points = free appetizer, 300 points = free entree
Beauty salon (per dollar):
- Earn 2 points per $1 spent
- 100 points = $10 off, 300 points = free basic service
Why point cards work: Customers feel like they're "earning money" toward future purchases, and you can offer rewards at different levels to encourage various spending behaviors.
