Stamp Card

Stamp cards are the most popular loyalty program because they're simple for customers to understand: "Collect X stamps, get a reward."

How to set up your stamp card

Number of stamps: Most businesses use 8-10 stamps. Here's what works:

  • Coffee shops: 9-10 stamps (customers visit frequently)
  • Restaurants: 6-8 stamps (visits are less frequent)
  • Retail stores: 8-10 stamps
  • Service businesses: 5-6 stamps (visits are scheduled, less frequent)

Your reward: Keep it simple and valuable:

  • Coffee shop: "Free drink of your choice"
  • Restaurant: "Free appetizer" or "$15 off your meal"
  • Salon: "20% off any service"
  • Retail: "$10 off your purchase"

After they redeem: You can either reset to zero stamps or let them keep collecting on the same card.

Real examples from successful businesses:

  • Local cafe: "Buy 9 coffees, get the 10th free"
  • Pizza place: "Order 8 times, get a free large pizza"
  • Hair salon: "6 visits earns you a free wash and blow-dry"
  • Bookstore: "Purchase 10 books, get $20 off your next order"

Why stamp cards work: Customers can see their progress clearly and know exactly what they're working toward. It's like a game they want to complete.

What the register gives on a full card

If you run a POS that Passtastic connects to (Lightspeed today), tell the card what a full card is worth at the checkout. In the card editor, under At the register, pick one:

  • Free product — choose the product from your POS list. Page & Co, a bookshop, picks "Paperback": a customer with 10 stamps brings a €14.90 novel to the counter, the cashier types the card's code, and the book is free, whatever its price.
  • Money off — an amount or a percentage off the sale.
  • Staff handle it — nothing goes to the register; your team gives the reward the way they do today.

After you save a Free product or Money off reward, the card shows its code at the register, for example `PAGECO-BOOK`. It never changes, so print it for your staff. The reward is used only when the customer asks and the cashier types the code; the card then resets, and anything else paid on that visit earns a stamp as usual. Without a POS, nothing changes: the card works with the Scanner app exactly as before.
