Switch Your Dashboard Between Light and Dark
Choose how your dashboard looks
Your Passtastic dashboard can be light or dark. If the dark screens are hard on your eyes — or hard to read in a bright shop — you can switch to light in a few seconds.
How to change it:
1. Open Settings from the sidebar.
2. Open the Appearance card (under Account).
3. Pick one of the three options. The dashboard changes straight away — there's no Save button.
The three options
| Option | What you get |
|---|---|
| Match my device | Follows your phone or computer's own light/dark setting. If your device switches to dark in the evening, so does your dashboard. |
| Light | A bright background with dark text, all the time. |
| Dark | A dark background with light text, all the time. This is what every new account starts on. |
Each option shows a small preview next to it, so you can see what you're picking before you pick it.
It follows you, not your browser
The choice is saved to your user account, not to the browser you happened to use. Sign in on your laptop at the shop and on your phone at home, and both show the appearance you chose.
It is also yours alone. If a colleague shares your workspace, changing your appearance does not change theirs — everyone on your team picks their own.
What it does not change
This setting only affects the dashboard you work in. It does not change:
- The card your customers hold in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet — those colours come from your card design, in the card editor.
- The sign-up page customers see when they open your card link.
- Your public business page.
If you want to change what your customers see, edit the card's design instead — see editing your card.
Common questions
Can everyone on my team change this?
I chose "Match my device" and nothing happened. Your device is probably already set to the same appearance the dashboard was showing. Change your phone or computer to its light (or dark) mode and the dashboard will follow. On iPhone this is in Settings → Display & Brightness; on Windows and Mac it's in the display or appearance settings.
I picked an option and it jumped back on its own. That means the setting couldn't be saved, and you'll see a short message under the options saying so. It's almost always a connection problem or a session that has timed out. Check your internet, refresh the page, sign in again if you're asked to, and try once more.
