Included Benefits: What Comes With Your Card

Some cards come with more than one perk attached — not a single reward at the end of a stamp card, but a whole package of things a member already owns just by holding the card. Included benefits is where you list them: as many perks as your membership or loyalty card includes, each redeemed independently at the counter.

It's built for cards like an annual membership that bundles a welcome facial, a monthly LED session, a few guest passes, and a standing 10% discount — instead of trying to force each one into a single offer.

Included benefits works on membership cards and simple loyalty cards — not stamp, points, level, or coupon cards, which have their own reward mechanics.

Where to find it

1. Open Programs from the sidebar and select your program. 2. Go to the Setup tab. 3. Open the Included benefits section. 4. Click + Add benefit to add your first perk.

The three ways a benefit can work

Each benefit you add gets one of three cadences — pick whichever matches how that perk actually works:

  • One time — a perk the member gets a set number of times, ever, for the life of the card. Example: a welcome facial (×1), or 3 guest passes on an annual membership.
  • Repeats — a perk that resets on a schedule, e.g. every 30 days for monthly, or every 1 day for daily. Example: 1 LED session per month.
  • Always included — a standing perk with nothing to count or redeem, like a permanent discount. Example: a standing 10% off aesthetic treatments.

Take a med-spa's annual membership as an example. It might list:

  • Welcome facial — One time, quantity 1
  • LED session — Repeats, every 30 days, quantity 1 per period
  • 10% off aesthetic treatments — Always included

Each row shows up separately on the card and at the scanner, so your staff and your customer both know exactly what's left.

Setting up each benefit

  • Benefit — the name, in your own words, e.g. "LED session + mask." This is what your customer and your staff see.
  • Cadence — One time, Repeats, or Always included (see above).
  • How many? — for One time and Repeats, how many the member gets (in total, or per period). Not shown for Always included — there's nothing to count.
  • Every how many days? — only for Repeats. 30 for monthly, 1 for daily, and so on. Resets at midnight in the timezone you choose.
  • Advanced (optional) — a short description shown alongside the benefit, and a custom line staff see once it's used up for that period (defaults to a sensible message if you leave it blank).

The timezone selector itself only shows up once at least one benefit on the card uses Repeats — with only One time and Always included benefits, there's nothing on a schedule to reset, so there's nothing to set a timezone for.

You can add up to 20 benefits per card. If a benefit's name is missing, you'll see a note that it needs one before you can save.

Already have a benefits list on this membership? If you've listed benefits as plain text before, Included benefits offers a one-tap Bring in my existing benefits list button the first time you open it — it turns each line into an Always included row you can then fine-tune.

How staff redeem from the scanner

Your cashier scans the customer's wallet pass as usual. Every included benefit shows as its own row:

  • One time and Repeats rows show how many are left (e.g. "1 of 2 left this month") with a Redeem button. Tapping it claims one use right away.
  • Once a benefit is fully used for the current period, its row shows your "used up" message instead of the button — so no cashier has to remember who already had their session this month.
  • Always included rows show as included with no button — there's nothing to redeem. Your staff applies the perk (like the 10% discount) directly at the till.

The scan itself always stays valid — only the benefit rows change state. Other things on the card (membership status, campaign offers) keep working as before.

What the customer's wallet card shows

Every benefit appears on the back of the customer's wallet pass, with a line that reflects its current state — "1 of 2 left this month," "Used," or "Included." It updates automatically whenever staff redeem something or a period resets, no reinstall needed. If a card has more than 12 benefits, the pass shows the first 12 plus a note to ask at the counter for the rest — the scanner always shows the full list either way.

Selling memberships

If you sell your membership through Stripe (see Selling Membership & Prepaid Cards with Stripe), every benefit you've set up here shows automatically on the card's sales page — before the customer even pays. Each one appears with its rhythm, exactly as you configured it: One time benefits read like "3 included," Repeats benefits read like "1× per month," and Always included benefits read "always included." There's nothing extra to write anywhere else — the same list a customer sees at checkout is what your staff redeem from later.

How the reset works

Repeating benefits become available again at midnight in the timezone you set for the card (one timezone covers every repeating benefit on that card). The countdown starts from the first redemption in that window, not the most recent one — redeeming again before the window closes doesn't push the reset date out any further. "Every 1 day" means redeemed today, available again at midnight tonight; "every 30 days" resets a month later from the day it was first used in that period.

There's no rollover — an unused period doesn't carry over or stack up.

Included benefits vs. Campaigns

Included benefits are what a member already owns as part of their card — set them up once, and they're there for as long as the membership lasts. Campaigns are different: one-off surprises you push out, like a birthday treat or a win-back offer, that the customer wasn't already promised. If you catch yourself building a campaign for something that's genuinely part of what you sold the customer (a welcome kit, a monthly session, a standing discount), it belongs in Included benefits instead. See Messages and Campaigns for setting up the surprise kind.

Common questions

If I edit a benefit later, does it update on cards already installed?
Yes — changing a benefit's name, description, or messages on a published card pushes to every installed wallet automatically, no reinstall needed.
Can I track how many bundles or products I have left in stock?
Not yet — quantities describe what each member is entitled to, not your inventory. There's no stock-count tracking today.
Does a benefit becoming "used up" delete the customer's history?
No. Usage is tracked so the counter can reset correctly; removing a benefit from the list stops offering it going forward but doesn't erase what already happened.
Why don't I see this on my stamp card?
Included benefits are built for membership and simple loyalty cards — stamp, points, level, and coupon cards already have their own reward mechanics.
What happened to the old Recurring offer?
It's now part of Included benefits — a single-perk setup still works, it just lives in a list that can hold more than one. See Recurring Offers Have Moved to Included Benefits for what changed.
