Always in the App: Offers Every Member Can See
Most campaigns wait for something to happen: a birthday, a tenth visit, a quiet month. An Always in the app offer doesn't wait. It sits on your customers' page from the day it starts until the day it ends, for every member it is meant for: "2-for-1 coffee this week", "10% off for new members", "A free dessert for Gold members in March".
It shows on your customer portal only, not on the wallet card, so a long-running offer never crowds the card.
Create one
1. Open Programs, pick the program, open the Campaigns tab and click New campaign. From Customer portal, New offer does the same; if you run more than one program, it asks which one first.
2. Pick the goal Always in the app.
3. Fill in In your customers’ portal:
- Title — the name customers see, e.g. "2-for-1 coffee". Required.
- What they get — a sentence or two, up to 280 characters.
- Picture — optional. Without one, the offer shows its title on your brand colour, which works well too.
- Small print — conditions, up to 400 characters.
- Starts on and Ends on — the day the offer starts and the day it ends. Leave them empty to start today and run until you turn it off.
4. Fill in 🧑💼 What your staff sees at the counter, the line your cashier reads on the scanner, e.g. "2-for-1 coffee: ring up one". Required.
5. Under Who gets it, choose Everyone on this card (or Everyone in all your programs), New members (people who joined in the last 30 days; this choice exists only for the Always in the app goal), Only some levels on a level card, or Points between on a card that counts points (choosing levels or a points range needs your plan's Automations feature; where your plan lacks it, the choice shows a lock).
6. Under When & how often, choose how many times each customer can use it.
7. Optionally turn on Notify customers: everyone the offer is for gets one push notification when it starts. Write that notification's text; it is only needed when this switch is on. Offers never go out by SMS.
8. Check the preview of how the offer looks, with and without a picture, then turn it on.
What customers see
The offer appears in the row of offers and rewards on their page, marked as new for its first week. Tapping it opens it full screen with its picture, what they get, the dates and Details and terms. Use at the counter shows a code for this offer, valid for 15 minutes.
Visitors who don't have your card yet see offers meant for everyone, marked Join to use.
What your staff see
Your cashier scans the code with the Passtastic scanner app, the same way they scan a card. The scanner shows the offer at the top with Confirm. After Confirm the offer is used and the card screen follows as usual, so they can still add a stamp or points.
If the customer shows their card instead of the code, the offer is listed under Active offers with Apply, like your other campaigns. See What Your Staff Sees When a Campaign Is Active.
Editing or ending an offer
Changes show on your customers' page straight away. Ending the offer, or reaching its end date, moves it to Used and ended on their page, which keeps the last 30 days.
Which plans include it
Every plan includes Always in the app offers. Choosing levels or a points range as the audience needs your plan's Automations feature.
When it is live
The Always in the app goal is offered once your customer portal is on. You can write an offer before then, but it stays inactive: nothing shows on your customers' page and no notification goes out until the portal is on. If an owner or admin turns the customer portal off, your offers stay saved and come back when it is turned on again.
